Limitless Libraries Policies
Limitless Libraries is a cooperative program of the Nashville Public Library and Metro Nashville Public Schools with the goal of improving school libraries, fostering resources, sharing between the two institutions, and improving student access to learning materials. Students may check out materials (books, DVDs, audiobooks) online through the public library at http://www.limitlesslibraries.org/. These materials will be sent to the student’s school library where they may pick up the requested items. Students may return them to the school library, or any public library branches. Students are responsible for all materials borrowed. Lost and damaged materials must be paid for or replaced in accordance with Nashville Public Library policy at the time of loss or damage.

- All middle school students will automatically receive a Limitless Libraries account. Limitless Libraries Opt-OutAll K-12 students have access to Limitless Libraries. However, families may choose to opt-out of Limitless Libraries for their child for the current school year. Please submit the Limitless Libraries Opt-Out Form form to your child's school librarian if you do not want your child to have access to resources from the Nashville Public Library delivered to them at their school. This must be renewed by completing and submitting a new form each year.
- MNPS student ID numbers will serve as Nashville Public Library account numbers. PIN numbers are birthday: MMDD.
- Parents will be able to opt-out if they do not want their children to participate.
- The guarantor for students 13 and under will be the parent/guardian whose name appears in the MNPS student management system.
- Guardians are able to request revocation of delivery to school sites at any time.
- Middle and high school students have the same check-out privileges offered to Nashville Public Library patrons. 100 materials may be checked out at a time, including up to 10 DVDs. Student accounts may have up to 25 holds. Checkout periods for materials range from 7 days to 3 weeks. Students may have the option to renew once, for up to 3 weeks, if no holds are on the item.
- When a student reaches their limit on materials checked out, all subsequent holds that arrive will be canceled by Limitless Libraries staff.
- No R-rated materials will be borrowed.
- Overdue notices for materials will be sent via telephone or email.
- Courtesy reminders for materials will be sent via email 2 days before an item’s due date.
- Replacement fees must be paid directly to the Nashville Public Library, not to any MNPS school sites.
